Meghalaya CM meets PM Modi in Delhi, discusses initiatives for climate change reversal

SHILLONG: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday met prime minister Narendra Modi on the initiatives implemented in the state for climate change reversal and their plan to host an International Conference on Climate Change and Natural Resource Management involving all North East States.

 

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government of India for allocating Rs 5,105 Crore from the share of central taxes and Rs 1,279 Crore as revenue gap grant for 2021-22 for the state.

CM Sangma wrote, “It's always an honour to meet Hon'ble @PMOIndia, Sh. @narendramodi Ji. Thanked him & GoI for allocating ₹5,105 Cr from the Share of Central Taxes & ₹1,279 Cr as Revenue Gap Grant for 2021-22 for #Meghalaya.”

 

 

 

Earlier, CM Sangma had also held discussions with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding pending issues like the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA) and the Inner Line Permit etc. The central minister assured him about his visit Shillong to have discussion with the organisations on issues concerning the State.
