Meghalaya’s Hasina Kharbhih has been awarded the Mother Teresa Memorial Award 2019 for Social Justice, at the Harmony International Conference in Mumbai.
Hasina Kharbhih is the Founder and Managing Director of Impulse Social Enterprises. She is an Ashoka Fellow and Aspen ILI Fellow.

During the award ceremony held on November 2, Kharbhih also delivered a speech on ‘Combating Contemporary forms of slavery’.
Kharbhih has been working tirelessly to provide sustainable livelihood in a safe environment for women and children. The mission that started in Meghalaya has evolved into a global program that aims to put an end to human trafficking and exploitation worldwide.
The Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Social Justice is hosted by Harmony Foundation. It felicitates selfless and intrepid individuals and organizations who have drained all of their energies and creativities towards social justice, peace, and harmony.

Harmony Foundation is an international NGO organization that was founded in October 2005. It was founded by Dr. Abraham Mathai to established social cohesion between various communities, castes and work towards the benefit of all the communities without any discrimination on the grounds of religion, caste, creed, gender or region.
