SHILLONG: Two more fatalities due to COVID-19 and as many as 187 new cases hs reported in the past 24 hours in Meghalaya.
While the death toll stands at 169 with two more persons succumbed to the virus during the day.
Riangkhwat Khonglah (58), of Huroi village in East Jaintia Hills, and Joplin Dkhar (64), of Nongkseh, Shillong, were among the two deceased.

The East Khasi Hills district remains on top with 141 fresh cases, following 18 in Ri Bhoi, West Garo Hills (10), East Jaintia Hills (6), four each in West Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills, two in South Garo Hills, and one each in South West Khasi Hills and East Garo Hills.
Meghalaya currently has 1,531 active cases, while 129 people have so far been recovered from the infection, with this the total number of recoveries now stands at 14,917.

Of the total 1531 active cases, East Khasi Hills has 1,094 active cases, followed by 155 in Ri Bhoi, West Jaintia Hills (82 ), East Jaintia Hills (68 ), West Garo Hills (67 ), West Khasi Hills (32 ),South West Khasi Hills (12 ), South Garo Hills (9), East Garo Hills (6), South West Garo Hills (4) and two in North Garo Hills.
