SHILLONG: In view of the rapid increase in the cases of COVID-19, state chief minister Conrad K. Sangma today announced a complete lockdown in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district with effect from today 8 pm till 5 am of May 10.
He also informed that weekend lockdown will be imposed in other districts of the State.

Weekend lockdown will also be imposed in all districts in the State," CM Sangma tweeted.Moreover, the exam scheduled from May 6-7 has been postponed to May 11-12 next.

“The education department will come up with notification,” he added.
CM Sangma also informed that all cabinet ministers have been asked to visit the districts in the state to assess the situation and report back.
“The government will review the situation on Saturday and take the next step,” he added.
