SHILLONG: Meghalaya government today inaugurated as many as three oxygen generation plants at the Tura Civil Hospital amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
The oxygen generation plants are funded by the Indian embassy in Japan and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
"A momentous occasion as Meghalaya inaugurates 3 Oxygen Generation Plants today funded by India in Japan (Embassy of India, Tokyo) and UNDP. Along with H.E Satoshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Embassy of Japan in India, and officials of UNDP, we inaugurated the O2 Plant at Tura Civil Hospital," state chief minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted after inaugurating the O2 Plants.

On behalf of Meghalaya, chief minister Sangma extended his heartfelt gratitude to UNDP India and the Japanese Embassy in India for donating the O2 Plants to assist improve the health facilities that "are critical in our fight against COVID-19.
