SHILLONG: As the second wave of COVID-19 hit the state of Meghalaya worsely, the state has been coming up with new ways to tackle the same.
The details of concerned zones are mentioned below.
Recently, the Government of Meghalaya has set up dedicated War Rooms zone wise in East Khasi Hills.

The residents of East Khasi Hills may contact the War Room Numbers assigned under which their place of residence falls for any COVID related assistance. This arrangement took place to ensure quick and timely response to COVID-19 related requirements.
The Meghalaya Government has declared a complete lockdown in East Khasi Hills from May 19 in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the state.
A notification issued on the same by Isawanda Laloo, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills has directed the citizens not to panic or throng the markets from today as essential commodities will still be made available to all the citizens of the district.
It was also instructed to the headmen and local authorities to actively regulate and work out an appropriate system of making essential commodities available door to door and also to make sure that no one steps out except for the essential purposes.
