Meghalaya: Oil Spillage by Miscreants to loot Vehicle Owners

In recent times, the roads of Meghalaya have been witness to a strange phenomenon. During rainy days on the Guwahati-Shillong road after crossing the toll-gate, you will often see cars totalled on the roadside. And if you happen to be a driver plying this stretch on a rainy day? Well, you will need luck on your side as the twisting turning roads along these tracks are made more treacherous by spillage of engine oil.

Locals are presumed to be running a dangerous operation in the area wherein they pour engine oil on roads. As a result, cars veer off the track and many of them get totalled on the roadside. The recovery vans stationed at the toll-gate charge a hefty sum in return for rescuing the vehicles. It is necessary to alert the authorities to this situation so that strict action can be taken against the miscreants.
