AIZAWL: As many as 62 more people tested COVID-19 positive in Mizoram during the past 24 hours taking the tally in the state to 5,220.
The newly infected includes a 32-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who has received both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
The BSF personnel, who had received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine on March 27, tested positive for coronavirus yesterday, upon his arrival at the Lengpui airport from Uttar Pradesh.
Of the new cases, 32 patients have a travel history.
The hill state currently has an active caseload of 608, while 4,600 people have recovered from the disease so far.
A total of 12 COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in the state with a death rate of 0.23 per cent.

Mizoram has till now tested 2,85,702 samples for COVID-19, including 3,200 yesterday.
On the other hand, 1,52,170 people, including 37,370 senior citizens have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine so far while 38,950 of them have received both the doses.
