AIZAWL: A village level task force has been formed in Serchhip district's Chhinhchhip village of Mizoram as the COVID-19 virus has entered the village.
The village level task force (VLTF) was formed with all the families living in the village.
The VLTF had set up a Community COVID Care Centre (CCCC) to look after the COVID patients of the village. Simultaneously, the Church and NGOs have come together as well to make their contribution to CCCC.
The whole motive behind constructing this CCCC is that after the detection of COVID-19, the patients had to travel to the district headquarter for treatment and it was a lot to do. Above that, they get emotionally wrecked up along with their family members in fear of unpredictable fate.

These reasons had prompted the villagers to have their own care center in their own village. A medical team has been working selflessly and tirelessly at the center as well.
As reported, 14 patients have been admitted to the CCCC to date. Food and medicines are being provided from the contributions taken from the villagers.
MLA Lalrinawma also contributed Rs 1 lakh to the CCCC to improve their facilities. Now VLTF is opening up for neighbouring villages as well in case if they need any help regarding COVID treatment.
Mizoram registered 239 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours and 2 patients succumbed to the virus. Active cases of the state stands at 2108.
