Mizoram: Church priest held for allegedly abusing minor sexually

AIZAWL: Popular Gospel preacher James Lalramliana was arrested by Mizoram police for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old in Aizawl on wednesday, informed the police.

As per Aizawl district SP Lalruaia a case had been filed against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

The accused was sent to judicial custody by a local court and is now in Central jail, Aizawl.

Accused Lalramliana, a resident of Aizawl, had delivered sermons in many places across the state and was in the victim's village for months.

The victim is to be examined by doctors. All the doctors in the northern Aizawl districts had come to the capital city for a meeting, said SP.
