Mizoram govt constructs panel to study Covid spread causes scientifically

AIZAWL: The Government of Mizoram has constructed a panel to study and examine the cause of Covid-19 spread in the state scientifically.

Mizoram ranks first on the list of states with the least number of death rates. The state was almost unbothered by the first wave of the pandemic but the second wave has worsened the condition of the state.

R Lalramnghaka, state Health, and Family Welfare Minister has asserted that the Mizoram Government has constructed a team comprising medical experts and scientists to perform a study into the causes of the spread of the virus.

The expert team comprises members from the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), the Indian Medical Association, the Principal of the Zoram Medical College and Hospital (ZMCH) and professors from Mizoram University.

The expert's team has to submit a detailed report with their findings and recommendations to the government for taking a further course of steps in the containment of the virus.

The government has also asked for an in-depth study and research on the spread of the virus especially the second wave of Covid-19 as it is different from the first wave.
