AIZAWL: Mizoram's COVID-19 tally increased to 4,859 today as 50 more people tested positive for the infection over the past 24 hours.
The fresh cases also includes four children aged six to fifteen.
Twenty patients have a travel history, and 21 have COVID-19 after being diagnosed during contact tracing, however, it is undetermined how the remaining nine patients became infected with the virus.

46 of the 50 new cases were reported from the Aizawl district and one from each districts-- Champhai, Mamit, Kolasib, and Serchhip.
The state currently has 364 active cases, with 4,483 people having recovered from the disease.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 stands at 12.
The state so far has tested 2,74,993 COVID-19 samples, including 1,745 on Saturday.
According to reports, a total,19,151 people, including 28,915 senior citizens, had been vaccinated as of Saturday, with 32,640 receiving both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
