Nagaland: Active COVID-19 cases cross 100 as state detects five new positives

With the detection of five new COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland, the number of active cases has crossed 100-mark on June 7^th, 2020. All the new cases are from Dimapur.

Informing this, Nagaland Minister of Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom tweeted:

With these cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has gone up to 112; of which 104 are active and eight have been cured and discharged in the state so far. However, the state has not registered any death case.

On June 6^th, 2020, 13 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland. All the patients have returned from Chennai. So far, in the last 24 hours out of 252 samples tested.

Nagaland and Northeast India

Assam has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases followed by Tripura. Nagaland has 4th highest cases in the region.

India COVID-19 cases so far

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. On June 7^th, the country currently has 2,46,628 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1,20,406 active cases with 1,19,293 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 6929.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 2 thousand deaths. It has recorded 82968 corona cases with 37390 cured, 2969 deaths, and 42609 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 27654 cases with 10664 cured, 761 deaths, and 16229 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 30152 positive cases with 16395 cured, 251 deaths 13506 active cases. Gujarat with 19592 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 13316 have been cured, 1219 deaths, and 5057 active cases.

India now has 6th in most cases in the world and has surpassed Germany. So far, the USA has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in 19,88,544 cases.

Global coronavirus cases have surpassed 69,81,011  cases, with Latin America overtaking the United States and Europe in the past week to report the largest portion of new daily cases globally. It represents a new phase in the virus’ spread, which initially peaked in China in February before large-scale outbreaks followed in Europe and the United States.
