NAGALAND: 100TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF LT. DR. T. AO

State level committee will commemorate the 100^th Birth Anniversary of Lt. Dr. Talimeren Ao where they discussed on football clinic for youngsters where Under-16 selection trials will be organized at the district and state level wherein selected players will undergo intensive coaching camp and further undergo state level selection trials and probable.

The players will undertake series of exposure matches within and outside the state. This was deliberated today at a meeting held at the office of the Convenor SLC and Adviser for Youth Resources & Sports, Kohima.

The committee also discussed on the agenda of the State hosting international sports seminar where internationals sportspersons, renowned coaches, experienced administrators and others will come under one umbrella to discuss the potentials & scope of sports, plan strategies for overall development of sports and further suggested that YR&S Department to implement the programme for restoration of Dr. T. Ao State Sports Awards which will be held at Raj Bhavan on 15^th August 2018.

Other agendas discussed were establishment of Dr. T. Ao Regional football Academy, restoration of Dr. T. Ao Inter District Football Championships, Dr. T. Ao North East football trophy. The Committee entrusted IPR Department for publication of Coffee table book that records the exploits, achievements, history and significant milestones of the footballer’s careers.

Further discussion was held on visitation of Dr. T. Ao’s former football clubs at Guwahati and Kolkata and a torch rally to all the eleven districts with lecture on Dr. T. Ao and the grand finale with the arrival of torch in the state capital and hosting of Dr. T. Ao North East Trophy.
