KOHIMA: Jasper, a preacher's dog from a tiny village in Mokokchung district of Nagaland, has become an internet sensation after it was seen 'guarding' its owner inside the Church.
Jasper, maintaining a dignified stance inside the Church with his head held high, left the congregation amused and frantically reaching for their phones -- to click pictures. Jasper stood guard for 25 minutes below the pulpit while his guardian, who is the Youth Director of the Kobulong Baptist Church (KBC), delivered a sermon.
According to reports, the site of this incident was Kobulong Baptist Church in Kobulong village, 13 kilometers from the district headquarter Mokokchung, on the evening of March 11.
According to reports, the church had organized a programme for the women of Kobulong village on March 11 to commemorate International Women's Day.

Jasper's owner, Akumzulu, talking to media, said he casually went to the church like any other day. He was unaware of Jasper tagging along.
The owner walked up to the elevated pulpit and began his sermon. One minute later, Jasper reached the church and headed straight to where his owner was delivering the sermon.
Akumzulu said that this turn of events caused the entire congregation to burst out into laughter. Later, the Chairperson of the programme tried to shoo Jasper away from the pulpit, to which Jasper obliged.
However, many of the amused churchgoers had already taken out their phones and clicked pictures of this rather unusual event. The pictures have gone viral on social media.
