KOHIMA: The Nagaland government has approved opening of exhibitions, fairs, swimming pools, theatres, sports, cultural and other events outside containment zones.
To contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state, the chief secretary published standard operating procedures (SOP) on Friday, which must be followed with immediate effect for strict adherence.

Exhibitions, trade fairs, fairs, swimming pools are allowed to open subject to strict adherence to the SOP for avoiding the spread of COVID-19, while theaters, multiplexes, cinema halls are allowed to open with up to 100 per cent of seating capacity subject to strict constancy.
According to sources, the limit of gathering will be determined by the size of the ground or space in open spaces, as well as the requirement of face masks, social distancing, thermal screening and the use of handwash or sanitiser.
Furthermore, the order stated that outside the containment zone, social, academic, sports, entertainment, cultural, political, religious functions, and congregations are allowed to open with up to 100 per cent of the seating capacity in closed spaces.
The number of spectators allowed at outdoor sporting events will be up to 100 per cent of the seating capacity of the galleries, subject to the use of a face mask, social distancing, thermal screening, and the use of hand wash or sanitiser.
The order stated that for indoor sports events, the number of spectators allowed will be up to 100 per cent of the seating capacity while adhering to all Covid-19 precautionary measures.
