Nagaland govt slashes petrol, diesel prices by Rs 10.51 & Rs 16.04/l

DIMAPUR: The government of Nagaland has reduced tax on diesel, petrol and other motor spirits with effect from today midnight.

The rate of tax on diesel has been amended from 17.5% to 16.50% or Rs 10.51 per litre, whichever is higher while the rate of tax on petrol and other motor spirit has been amended from 29. 80% to 25% or Rs 16.04 per litre, whichever is higher, read the notification issued by the additional chief secretary and finance commissioner, Sentiyanger Imchen.

According to the website of the Indian oil corporation on February 17 the petrol price stands at Rs 93.01 per litre while diesel price at Rs 83.92 per litre in Dimapur.

Meanwhile, in Kohima, the petrol price was Rs 93.93 per litre and diesel price was Rs 84.65 per litre.

According to the revised tax, as of today midnight, the price of petrol will reduce by Rs.2.22 per litre and diesel by Rs. 0.57 per litre.
