MUMBAI: Ajay Devgn's upcoming film Maidaan will cast two youths -- Mezizoto Tetso and Mecievi Khieya -- from Nagaland.

 

Both are football players from Jakhama village in Kohima district of Nagaland. Tetso and Khieya are currently in the sets of the film in Mumbai.

Tetso and Khieya will appear in the film Maidaan alongside Ajay Devgn.

 

Maidaan is a Hindi biographical sports film starring Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim during the golden era of Indian football (1952–62).

 

Rahim was credited as the architect of modern Indian football. He was mostly a trainer, but he was a strong motivator, and his time as a coach is remembered as India's "golden age" of football.

 

Amit Sharma-directed Maidaan, is produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with Bayview Projects LLP.

 

Maidaan is expected to be released in theatres on October 15, 2021.
