KOHIMA: Nagaland's Dimapur district accounts to 61% of the state's COVID-19 positive cases.

Y Kikheto Sema, the state's nodal officer for COVID-related activities, informed the state DIPR today.

Sema emphasised the critical need for beds and oxygen, stating that all available facilities in both public and private hospitals are running low.

“We must be ready for the worst”, he stated.

Today, a team from Dimapur led by Sema and Dimapur Commissioner of Police Rothihu Tetseo went to Olive Hospital in Dimapur.

The team praised the hospital's management, led by director Ikheto Sema, for hosting all non-COVID patients with all 70 beds confirmed to be occupied.

However, since COVID patients are in urgent need of beds, Sema has asked him to set up a makeshift camp in the hospital's backyard with at least 30 beds by next week. He ordered the district administration to contact the Indian Army and request that the makeshift camp be set up.
