Kohima, January 29, 2020:

The Nagaland government’s new initiative, No Work, No Pay, will officially begin from February 1 in order to monitor the attendance of its employees.

Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy notified that every employee, including officers, who have registered under the Aadhaar-based attendance system shall mandatorily mark his/her attendance on the biometric device, both when coming to the office and while leaving after the working hours.

The attendance of the employees will be extracted and sent for scrutiny and after “satisfactory” remarks and approval of the chief secretary, the names of the employees will be forwarded for release of their monthly salaries.

According to the notification, the “satisfactory” feedback on attendance will be based on the maintenance of office timing, which is from 9:50 am to 4 pm. The salaries of the ones with dissatisfactory attendance will be kept on hold until they furnish written reasons for delay.

The Nagaland government’s No Work, No Pay will be effective from February 1 and government employees will have to register for the Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance system. For those who are yet to register, one can visit the Biometric Attendance Control Room of the Directorate of IT&C, 2nd Floor next to NIC (M7085404509, 9856692445) latest by February 10, read the official notification.
