Mizoram confirms 9 more COVID-19 cases, total rises to 130

Out of a total of 615 samples processed at ZMC laboratory in Mizoram on June 17^th, 2020, nine samples were found COVID-19 positive. A total of 499 samples were found negative and the results of 107 samples are awaited.

Of the nine confirmed cases, four are from Lawngtlai, four from Siaha, and one from Lunglei district. Four are returnees from Delhi, four from Haryana and one from Maharashtra. All were asymptomatic, under institutional quarantine, between ages 1 and 32.

With these cases, the number of total cases in Mizoram stands at 130 and the active cases at 129.

Assam has highest number of COVID-10 cases in the Northeast India.

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. As on June 17th, the country currently has 366K confirmed COVID-19 cases, 160384 active cases with 194325 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 12237.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 3 thousand deaths. It has recorded 116752 corona cases with 59166 cured, 5651 deaths, and 51935 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 47102 cases with 17457 cured, 1904 deaths, and 27741 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 50193 positive cases with 27624 cured, 576 deaths 21993 active cases. Gujarat with 25093 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 17430 have been cured, 1560 deaths, and 6103 active cases.
