National People’s Party (NPP) President and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will visit the state of Nagaland on March 29 in preparation for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in the state. Sangma will be addressing a gathering at Mokokchung in Nagaland as the party gears up to make its debut in Nagaland elections.
It may be mentioned that Hayithung Tungoe has been chosen as the NPP candidate to contest the lone Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland.
The Lok Sabha election in Nagaland will be a four-way contest between KL Chishi, Tokheho Yepthomi, Hayithung Tungoe, and MM Thromwa Konyak.
The election to the lone Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland and the byelection to the Aonglenden Assembly constituency will be held on April 11.
It may be mentioned that Conrad’s NPP intends to contest elections in all seven Northeastern states of India.
