Guwahati, March 15, 2019:

With the Burmese Army ‘Tatmadaw’ and the Indian Army coming to an “excellent understanding” as per Burmese military reports, Northeast insurgents camped in the neighboring country have found the going tough and as per Indian Army officials, are running around like "headless chickens".

Reports had arrived last month of the Burmese Military’s operation against the Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) at Sagaing Division. Now, a month later, reports have emerged that about a dozen NCSN (K) leaders are under Burmese custody and the leaders are being told to dismantle their bases in Sagaing.

Moreover, the Burmese Army has taken a stand wherein it is discouraging any hostilities against India from Burmese soil in view of the recent diplomatic success between the two neighboring countries following regular visits by top commanders on either side.

It is to be mentioned that the Myanmar Army had also conducted operations near the Taga area against groups such as NSCN (K) and ULFA and a senior ULFA leader, Major Jyortirmoy Asom, was killed in an encounter with the Tatmadaw.
