Tamulpur, June 15, 2019:

People of adjoining areas of Rangia, All Bodo Students’ Union, Asom Yuva Parishad and All Assam Students’ Union, Gandhibari unit, staged a unique protest on Saturday demanding repair of Rangia-Kaurbaha-Gandhibari-Latibari-Nagrijuli road at Rangia.

The agitators performed special puja so that ‘good sense prevails’ in the minds of the people’s representative to repair the road.

Women of the area performed ‘Naam Prasanga’ to draw the attention of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Thereafter, the agitators shouted slogans against Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, MPs Biswajit Daimary, Naba Saraniya and BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilari demanding immediate repair of the road.

The deplorable condition of the road has created lots of problems for the people of the area.

People decried the lackadaisical attitude of the government to repair the road.

It is the cause of many accidents in the areas. It also causes severe damages to the running vehicles.

It is a well-expressed fact that the people of area pay a huge amount of vehicle tax.

Hence it is the fundamental right of the citizens to have better roads for their vehicles.

This problem has reached at its extreme and is, consequently, creating panic among citizens.
