NEW DELHI: The Punjab National Bank (PNB) has stated that account holders with Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) and United Bank of India (UNI) accounts can continue to use their old cheque book until June 30, 2021, since the bank has extended the check book's validity until that date. In fact, as of July 1, their old cheque book will be invalid.
The cheque book, passbooks, and IFSC codes of OBC and UNI have been merged with Punjab National Bank, which means that these banks' cheque book, passbooks, and IFSC codes would have to be updated by a deadline set by the bank.
Customers with an e-OBC / e-UNI account will get a new PNB Check Book via the branch, Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, and ATM, according to PNB.
The cheque book issued by OBC and UNI (Post Dated cheque book) will only be valid until June 30, 2021.
For account holders of each of these banks, PNB had previously released a new IFSC code and MICR. If a customer does not receive this information, he must notify the bank via SMS.
