AGARTALA: Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman, the chairman of TIPRA and head of the erstwhile royal house of Tripura asked his fans, friends, family, and well-wishers to celebrate his this year's birthday by helping the needy people rather than cutting cakes.
Manikya said, he does not want his birthday to be celebrated over the top celebrations, instead, he wants his birthday to be celebrated by distributing foods to the needy, repairing homes that have been damaged by the monsoon.
He further said that the youths can organise sports events to celebrate his special day.

Manikya said that this year many lives have been lost since the world is fighting the battle against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. "We need to be mindful of this fact," he added.
"Please don't celebrate my birthday by cutting cakes and over-the-top celebration. Lives have been lost because of covid and we need to be mindful of this fact. Please distribute food, repair houses that have been damaged by the monsoon. Youth can organise football or other sports events," Manikya tweeted.
Last year, Pradyot Manikya Deb Barman celebrated his birthday raising funds to feed 10,000 distressed people of the state.
And last year also posting a video on his Twitter handle, he asked his fans and well-wishers to help the needy instead of cutting cakes and bursting bombs.
