KOHIMA: A property worth Rs approximately 8 lakhs has been razed down by a fire that broke out at Lerie Colony, Kohima in Nagaland yesterday.
The property worth Rs 8 lakhs includes a generator along with paints, informed the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES).
The R.O (E) (F&ES) Kenny Khing informed that on receiving a fire call, a team of the Fire and Emergency Services from fire station Kohima (South) proceeded to tame the fire.
Accordingly, two fire tenders along with sufficient equipment and fire personnel rushed to the spot and pressed into action.

Even though the property of Rs 8 Lakhs was lost in the inferno, however, due to timely information and response, the fire was brought under control, and property worth Rs 3 crore was managed to salvaged, Khing said.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be from an electrical short circuit due to lightning and no injuries were reported.
