GUWAHATI: The nation is today celebrating its 75th Independence Day of India, the country's most significant milestone with much pomp and fervour.
Independence Day commemorates India's independence from oppressive British rule, as well as the numerous sacrifices made by our freedom warriors.
It is a national holiday that is generally marked with the hoisting of the tricolour, parades, and cultural activities around the country.
