Tripura police have arrested four suspected Rohingyas from Kailashahar area in Unakoti district of the state.
Police officials said the four Rohingya refugees—a woman and three minors—were nabbed from the house of one Safiq Ali at Yeazikhoura village under Irania police station of the district on Monday evening.
An official of Irania police station told reporters that they had arrived from Silchar and had been sheltered by Ali.
It may be mentioned that suspected Rohingyas refugees have become increasingly common in the North-Eastern part of India as the North-East shares its border with Bangladesh, where many Rohingyas are currently sheltered.
The Rohinyas are a Muslim community who reside primarily in Myanmar who have often been referred to as the "most persecuted community in the world."
