MUMBAI: Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar today announced that he will donate plasma to COVID-19 patients in order to help them recover quickly from the ailment.
The former cricketer was tested positive for the novel coronavirus recently and was in isolation for 21 days and has now recovered and tested negative.
Thanking everyone for their warm wishes and prayers for his speedy recovery he said that when blood plasma is given at the right time to an infected patient, the patient recovers fast.

He urged everyone who has tested positive for the virus and has now recovered from the deadly infection to talk with their doctors and if possible to donate blood plasma to the patients in need so that they can recover fast.
He also said, “I have already talked with my doctor and when permitted I will donate plasma to the needy.”
Last year, when the pandemic first hit the world, the cricket icon opened up a Plasma Therapy Unit for treating COVID-19 patients at the Seven Hills Hospital in suburban Andheri.
