Sikkim daughter Sandhya Gurung to receive Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award

GANGTOK: Sandhya Gurung from Sikkim is confirmed to receive the prestigious ‘Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award’ for her exceptional contributions in the field of Boxing.

The awardees will receive their awards from the President of India at a specially organized function at the Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 13, 2021 (Saturday) at 4:30 pm.

Meanwhile, CM Prem Singh Tamang today announced that the state Government will provide cash Rs 10 lakh to Olympic Bronze Medalist Lovlina Borgohain and Rs 5 lakh to Coach Sandhya Gurung.
