NEW DELHI: A 76-year-old woman died after being slapped by her son during an altercation at Dwarka here on Tuesday.
The woman, Avtar Kaur, can be seen being slapped in the face by her son on CCTV footage of the incident on Monday afternoon, after which she became unconscious and collapsed to the ground.
Following the release of the video, the Bindapur police station registered a case against her 45-year-old son, identified as Ranbir Singh, under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and arrested him.

According to the sources, the woman and one of her neighbours had a dispute about parking vehicles prior to the incident.
The neighbour even called police control room, but when the cops arrived, the complainant told them that the problem had been resolved and that she didn't want to discuss the matter any further.
Kaur's son questioned her later, accusing her of "picking a fight" with the neighbours. According to a senior police officer, Ranbir slapped his mother in the face during the ensuing altercation.
After the parking dispute was resolved, the woman, Ranbir and his wife got into another argument, according to the CCTV footage.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her "brought dead", according to sources.
A case has been filed and Ranbir, who is unemployed, has been arrested.
The Delhi Commission for Women has sought a police report on the incident.
