Troops of Assam Rifles have recovered brown sugar worth Rs 1.23 Crore near Khudengthabi Checkpost in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district.
Based on a specific intelligence regarding the transportation of contraband items through the forest area to avoid Khudengthabi Check-Post, two suspected individuals were spotted by the team. The two managed to escape into the forest.

However, on carrying out a detailed search of the area, the team recovered a bag containing the suspected brown sugar weighing approximately 618 grams worth Rs 1.23 Crore.
The recovered items have been handed over to Police Station in Moreh for further investigation.
