Three of a family and one other dies of asphyxiation in Mizoram's Kolasib

KOLASIB: In a tragic incident, three members of a family -- twin brothers, their younger brother, and one other died of asphyxiation in Mizoram's Kolasib district yesterday evening.

Four persons have been identified as --Albert Vanlalhriata Parte (40), Andrew Vanlalhruaia Parte (40), William Parte (36), the three brothers from Kolasib, and the rescuer Lalchhuanliana.

The three brothers had got down to the newly constructed water tanky in their home to clean up the remaining construction materials inside the tank.

As per sources, it seemed the brothers began to swoon one by one as they enter the second chamber of the tank which remained unused for quite some time.

When there is no call response from the tank, Lalchhuanliana immediately went inside the tank to rescue the brothers but he also collapses due to lack of oxygen inside the tank.

It is believed to have led to the formation of poisonous gas inside the tank which remained unused for quite some time.

All four were taken to Kolasib District Hospital in an unconscious state.

However, doctors declared the three brothers were brought dead, and the other person Lalchhuanliana is in a critical stage but later succumbs to his accident.
