AGARTALA: Acting on specific BSF intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Out Post Anandpur, Ex-150 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar on Tuesday evening seized 29,580 Yaba tablets worth Rs.1.47 crore near Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence.
The seized Yaba Tablets have been handed over to local Police for further course of action under NDPS Act
Meanwhile, on the intervening night December 28 and 29, BSF troops also succeeded in seizing various other contraband items having collective market value of Rs. 15,78,138/-
Further, on specific BSF intelligence input, troops of Border Out Post Srimantapur, Ex-133 Bn BSF, Gokulnagar also foiled the trans-border attempt and apprehended four Bangladeshi Nationals and one Indian.
During preliminary questioning, they revealed their identity as Abdul Jalil (65 yrs) , Helena Begum (52yrs), Baby Akhtar (55 yrs) , Md Jakharia (05 yrs), and Rafikul Islam (Indian) .
An FIR has been lodged and all the apprehended people along with their recovered items have been handed over to local Police for further legal action.
