AGARTALA: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) on Friday announced that the state will conduct Class 10 and 12 examinations for selected subjects only.
The Education Minister of the state, Ratan Lal Nath informed that it is not possible for the state to conduct examinations for all the subjects. He further stated that if the situation improves, then exams will be conducted within 15 days of issuing notice.
“It is not possible to take the board exams in this situation. Therefore, the Central board had decided to cancel the secondary examinations. Students are victims of the same situation in Tripura. Examiners are spending their days in deep uncertainty since the Tripura government has not yet canceled the board-run secondary and higher secondary examinations,” said the education Minister.

The state had earlier postponed class 10 and 12 board examinations, which was scheduled to begin from 18 and 19 May due to the COVID-19 situation in the state.
A total of 26610 students are appearing for Class 10 examinations this year while 27205 students will appear for class 12 examinations.
Currently, the state stands at 49287 cases of COVID-19 with 7252 active cases. A total of 41530 patients have recovered while 482 patients died due to COVID-19 infection in the state.
