Former PWD minister of Tripura, Badal Choudhury has been admitted to the ICU of GB Panth Hospital on Saturday night. The doctors informed that his condition is critical and he has been feeling pain in his chest.
His wife Namita Gope and CPIM leaders, after hearing about his health condition, rushed to the hospital.
It has been learnt from sources that on Saturday evening, investigating officer Ajay Kumar Das, went to central jail where he interrogated Badal Choudhury for a long time. After that, he fell ill. Earlier, he was admitted to hospital from 21 October to 8 November.

It may be mentioned here that an FIR was lodged against Badal Choudhury on October 13 regarding a PWD scam.
Police started the hunt for him across the state whereas on the 14 October Choudhury received interim bail but on 16th October Badal Choudhury’s bail plea was rejected in the District Court but police in last 6 days were deployed on day-night duties in search of Badal Choudhury.
It may be mentioned here that earlier, as many as nine Government officials, including top-level police authorities, were suspended due to failure to arrest Badal Choudhury.
Badal Choudhury was absconding and his bail plea was rejected by the district court and Tripura High Court. On 21 October, he was admitted to a private hospital due to a health condition.
Police tried to produce him in front of Court on October 30, but his health condition deteriorated again and he was sent to GB hospital.
