AGARTALA: Tripura government has launched a major vaccination campaign, as well as strict enforcement of COVID-appropriate conduct to prevent the virus from spreading further.
In Tripura, 93 per cent of health staff and 91 per cent of frontline workers have already been vaccinated, according to state vaccine officer Dr. Abhijit Das.

He added that over 67 per cent of the population over 45 years old has received the vaccine, with some of them having completed the second dose as well.
“We are encouraging groups, communities and civil society organisations to host the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Hopefully, 100% vaccination of the targeted population will be completed within the time frame,” said Das.

On Monday, state surveillance officer Dr Deep Debbarman said that 100 per cent testing of indoor patients in all government and private hospitals, as well as people arriving from Maharashtra, has been made mandatory, and that 10 per cent of all passengers arriving from other states by air or train are being tested for COVID, even if they have no symptoms.
