A case of domestic violence has been registered against an Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) MLA Dhannanjoy Tripura by his wife in Tripura.
Dhannanjoy Tripura, the MLA, is accused of domestic violence and the case has been registered at a women police station in West Agartala.

Dhannanjoy’s wife has lodged the case against him, her mother-in law Khargashree Tripura, brother –in –law Chandrajoy Tripura and sister-in-law Madhurani Tripura. She also alleged that the IPFT MLA attempted to kill her.
A case under section 498(A) and (307) has been registered against MLA Dhananjoy Tripura and investigation is underway. According to sources, Sub Inspector Sima Das Chowdhury is investigating the case.
Earlier in the month of May, the MLA was accused of raping his wife (then unmarried), following which he later tied the knot with her. However, according to reports, the MLA along with his family members starts assaulting her.

It may be mentioned here that as of now, no arrest has been made so far.
