Tripura Police on Saturday arrested a Bangladeshi national, along with two pistols and four magazines.
The arrested Bangladeshi national has been identified as a certain Anumoy Chakma. He was arrested following an operation carried out by a team of Natun Bazar Police Station.
Tripura Police said that the operation was launched after information of a person heading to Amarpur, along with arms and ammunition, reached the authorities.
Police were able to nab Chakma after carrying out a search based on the tip-off.
The bus that he was travelling in was headed from Karbook under Amarpur Subdivision from Udaipur.
Arrested Anumoy Chakma has revealed that he is a resident of Khagrachari district in Bangladesh. He later revealed that he had procured the arms at Tripura's capital Agartala, and was headed back to Bangladesh.
Police are still investigating the matter.
