Tripura Royal Scion Pradyot Manikya Seeks Support for Movements against CAB

Agartala, December 3, 2019:

Indigenous people’s leader and royal scion Pradyot Manikya appealed all the stakeholders of Tripura to support all movements against Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

Seeking support against the Citizenship Bill by the agitating groups, Manikya took to his social media handle and posted, “I appeal to all to support all movements against CAB whether it is held by INPT, IPFT, TPF, TSP, TSF, JAC with also a plea that our opposition to CAB should not be violent and disturb the general public.”

He added, “For 70 years some people have termed the Tiprasa community as terrorist and violent let those people not get another chance to call us names. We should protest democratically and peacefully. Tomorrow I will meet leaders from a lot of the above parties in Agartala and if the Bill is tabled and passed in the Parliament we will take this matter with the best lawyers available in India to the Supreme Court unitedly. In Unity, there should be no Politics only #PuilaJatiUloParty.”

It is to be mentioned here that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been holding meetings with the leaders of Northeast including agitating bodies of the northeast.

The center’s move to amend the contiguous Citizenship Bill has led to unrest situation in the entire North-Eastern region. Indigenous organizations have launched a series of protests against the amendment of the bill in all the states of North East.
