While the train started, she felt uncomfortable and developed "delivery pain". Her worried husband sought help from the rail authorities, but before the train reached Dharmanagar, she delivered a girl child with the help of co-passengers.

The RPF and rail officials who were in the train informed authorities and told them to arrange doctors at the Dharmanagar railway station.

Accordingly, railway doctor Anupam Debbarma and other health staffs were present in the Dharmanagar rail station and they examined the mother and new born baby. The doctors advised them to shift to the rail hospital in Dharmanagar, but Raj Babu and his wife was not ready to go the hospital and decided to go to their home first.

In every station, doctors were alerted and doctors were present accordingly. In every station, doctors checked the mother and baby.

The passengers and the couple got the relief after a spell of huge tension when the baby was born. The passengers advised theeverye name should be ‘Kanchanmala’ as she was born in ‘Kanchanjunga’ Express.

Late at night on Saturday, they reached Malda, railway sources confirmed.
