MARGHERITA: Assam Police arrested two persons and seized two soap cases weighing 17 gms of suspected Heroin and a cash amount of Rs 46,850 on late Saturday night in Tinsukia district.
Based on specific input Partho Pratim Das (IPS), Sub Divisional Police Officer Margherita, Someswar Konwar, Officer in Charge of Margherita Police Station along with other Staff conducted search operations in two different locations and recovered the suspected Heroin and cash.

The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as --Rajkumar Chetry, a resident of 3 Number Makumpathar, and Jagat bahadur damai from Phakiyal gaon, both places situated at Margherita sub division under Tinsukia.
Arrested drugs Peddler Rajkumar Chetry is a driver by profession and he drives a vehicle belonging to a BJP leader of Margherita Region.
A case has been registered against the arrested drug peddlers at the Margherita Police Station and further investigation on the matter is underway.
