United National Liberation Front Militants Shoot Dead 19-Year-Old 'Rapist'

Imphal, September 10, 2019:

Manipur’s rebel outfit United National Liberation Front (UNLF) has shot dead a 19-year-old youth in Bishnupur district of the state. The youth was the prime accused in the rape of a minor.

The UNLF has claimed responsibility for the killing of the youth identified as Heisnam Lalboi. He had been accused of raping a girl studying in Class 9 in Thanga High School in Bishnupur District, that took place on 13 Feb 2018.

In an official statement of the United National Liberation Front, it stated that it had awarded death penalty to Heisnam Lalboi for his alleged involvement in the rape case.

The rebel outfit pumped 6 bullets into the victim who succumbed to his injuries.
