Veteran actress Kirron Kher undergoing cancer treatment, confirms Anupam Kher

NEW DELHI: Veteran actress and politician Kirron Kher has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer, said her husband and actor Anupam Kher today morning.

He revealed in his statement that his wife is currently undergoing treatment and is "on her way to recovery."

Anupam Kher stated as follows: "Sikandar (their son) and I would like to let everyone know that my wife has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. She is receiving therapy right now, and I am certain that she will emerge stronger than ever."

She is being treated by a team of "phenomenal" doctors. "We are very lucky that she is being cared for by a great team of doctors. She's always been a warrior who confronts problems head-on,” he added.

The actor also thanked their well-wishers for their concern and prayers. "She's all heart and that's' why so many people love her. So keep sending your love to her in your prayers and in your heart. She is well on her way to recovery and we thank everyone for their support and love," read a portion of his statement.

Kirron Kher entered politics in 2014 when she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

She most recently appeared as one of the judges on India's Got Talent, alongside Karan Johar and Malaika Arora. She is known for her work in films such as Pestonjee, Main Hoon Na and Hum Tum.
