AIZAWL: The Mizo Photographers' along with Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department observed World Photography Day, 2021 at the I&PR Auditorium, in Aizwal today.
Pi Lallianpuii, Chief Guest at the function and Director of I&PR encouraged the amateur photographers to upgrade their skills in order to produce photographs that would ever remain valuable and a good legacy for future generations.
Over the years, she said, it has been the handiwork of keen photographers that has served as priceless documents of various government developmental works across the state.
'A picture is worth a thousand words' and so it is through the power and magic of photography that we can forever encase Mizoram's history that is unfolding right before our eyes today, and at the same time, also exhibit the beauty of the land, its people and culture to the whole world,’ said Pi Lallianpuii.
To mark the 182nd World Photography Day this year, a 'Photo Competition via Facebook' was held and the prizes were distributed at the function itself today.
In the Open category, Vanlalhruaizela won the first prize. In the category of Impact of Covid-19 on Mizoram, Lalrinchhana came first. In the Still Life category, the first prize was won by Zongchinthanga.
