Talking to Inside Northeast, Sanga said, "We vehemently dislike the people who are coming from Myanmar. Sometimes, these people are bringing narcotics such as heroin and meth to Mizoram...that is really unfortunate."

Sanga says that the Government's efforts to check the cross-border drug trade in Mizoram has so far proved futile. "There are laws prohibiting these people from coming to Mizoram, so the Government should enforce them, nah??"

The Serchhip YMA leader also rues that his own district of Serchhip is being badly affected by the illegal transfer of drugs. "We have a 16 km long border with Myanmar. We don't like the people who are creating nuisance by dealing various kinds of drugs..."

Talking on the lines of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, Sanga said that the YMA has launched massive protests after it was announced, but the situation has retuirned to normal since the Government's assurance that Mizoram will be kept outside the purview of the CAA.
