Arunachal Pradesh: Arunachal Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Monday condemned a YouTuber for mocking Arunachalees in a video.
Mein stated that a YouTuber Paras Singh(Bunty) posted a video in which he can be seen mocking an MLA from Arunachal Pradesh based on his name and appearance and even said that "Arunachalees don't look Indian".
The YouTuber went on to display the Indian map and can be seen questioning in the video- "Where is this Arunachal Pradesh? I can't see it!"
Commenting on the video Mein said, "I am appalled and greatly dismayed to see a recent YouTube post by one Mr Paras Singh(Bunty) where he has not only questioned the nationality of an MLA from my State of Arunachal Pradesh but also questioned the existence of our State within India."
Mein further noted that people of Northeast have always been facing these kinds of racist slurs based on looks, choice of food and dress.
"What we look like, how we dress, what we eat and how we live makes us no less Indian", he added.
Condemning the act, the Deputy CM demanded an apology from the YouTuber.
"I strongly condemn this racist and arrogant act of Mr Paras Singh (Bunty). Every Arunachalee and every right thinking Indian must condemn such prejudiced views. He must apologise unconditionally to the people of Arunachal Pradesh", he said
