Public broadcaster 'Prasar Bharati' is now joining up with tech giants 'Google' to deliver the results of the 2019 Lok Sabha election on Thursday, May 23.
It is a unique initiative to livestream the Lok Sabha and state election results through video-hosting site YouTube.
Prasar Bharati officials have said that a special livestream will be created on YouTube which will be available on the homepage of the website across India.
On the day of the election result, i.e. tomorrow, whenever anybody accesses YouTube from anywhere in India either through the website of Youtube or through the YouTube App, the first thing that they will see on top will be a news stream from DD News updating the results.
Once a person clicks on the link, it will lead to the live YouTube channel of DD news. Apart from that, the window will also have the option of live stream of 14 other DD regional stations of different languages.
It may be mentioned that this is the first-of-its-kind tie-up between Google and Prasar Bharati as the latter seeks to compete with scores of private-owned television media and digital media news who will be covering the election results tomorrow.
This feature will be active on YouTube all throughout May 23, 2019.
