The prices of petrol and diesel have increased for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday across all the major cities of the country after the US killed a top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
As per the website of the Indian Oil Corporation website, petrol price has increased by 9 paise per litre and that of diesel by 11 paise.

Thus, petrol now costs Rs 75.54 a litre in Delhi, Rs 81.13 per litre in Mumbai, Rs 78.13 per litre in Kolkata, and Rs 78.48 per litre in Chennai, after the increase.
The diesel prices cost Rs 68.51 a litre in Delhi, Rs 71.84 a litre in Mumbai, Rs 70.87 a litre in Kolkata, and Rs 72.39 in Chennai.

The increase prices have come into effect from 6 am in the morning. It may be mentioned here that the petrol and diesel prices have been witnessing a sharp rise in India following a recent blast in one of the major oil sites of Iran. US’ recent attack on Iran has further increased the prices, thereby adding to the woes of general public.
